Peter Oehlmann
Peter
Oehlmann (b. 1953) lives and works as a freelance photographer and
lecturer in Berlin.
He completed his photographic apprenticeship while working as
an assistant to the factory-photographer at the Filmfabrik Wolfen (ORWO)
and subsequently, studied photography at the
Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst HGB in Leipzig with Evelyn Richter.
Worked several years as a photojournalist. He was a co-founder of the
photographer's collaborative 'ZeitOrt Bilddokumentation' (until 1999).
A core thematic of his project work is the documentation of the
architectural and environmental transformation of urban and rural areas. He is
also concerned with the discourse and related aspects surrounding the digitising
of photography. Has held various teaching positions and is member of the German
Photographic Academy (DFA).
